Founder’s Biography
BusinessDrs founder, Dr. Robert J. Mullaney, started his career as an Occupational Therapist at Baptist Hospital of Miami in Miami, Florida. While working his way up the management ranks of several South Florida hospitals and clinics and obtaining his Master of Business Administration degree he discovered the need for a therapeutically-based method of business consultation. With his roots as a healthcare practitioner, healthcare consultation and education, he later began to expand his practices and operationalize his own ideas.
Recognizing his efforts to implement change and operationalize strategy, Dr. Mullaney was appointed to the field of higher education for degree granting program development and start-ups. Now, with the knowledge of curriculum development, professional association and accreditation standards, teaching and learning methodology, and adult education, he was encouraged to offer private consultation in response to firm inquiries.
During his doctorate studies in Business Administration at the Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University he collaborated with many of his fellow classmates in strategy development and implementation. Finding that the standard way of approaching the common issues that businesses struggle with don’t always actually solve problems, he decided to venture in the development of a new experiential and academically supported approach.
With a strong healthcare background and a Doctorate of Business Administration, Dr. Mullaney realized that the term “BusinessDrs” might be somewhat misleading. “’Yes’, a Doctor of Business is the talent source, but also ‘yes,’ that the roots of its application are in healthcare- what many associate the term ‘Drs.’ with.” The meaning of BusinessDrs runs through the services BusinessDrs offers to its clients. A therapeutic approach to business problems is the approach that has begun an exciting journey with the goal of helping ensure the health, as Medical Doctors do for individuals, of businesses- as groups of people. The goal, Dr. Mullaney states, is that of “TBI,” no, not traumatic brain injury, but “total business independence.”
A business encompassing self-sufficiency and holonomic synergy is what he describes as a product of the BusinessDrs.
